It’s the big day. You want it all wrapped up nice and neatly. And a bottle of decent vintage port to round it all off, before you fall asleep in front of the latest Bond movie. Well, here it is...

If you’re throwing a party, you just know there’s no point in splashing out on a First Growth Bordeaux or a Grand Cru White Burgundy, but you do want your guests to drink something a bit special. Well these two great Chilean wines are about the best we’ve found to make that move.

The Perfect Party Case features:
2005/6 Estampa Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, Colchagua, Chile x 6 bottles
This is a frighteningly self-assured white wine. It is also a definitive lesson in blending and balance. Made from 70 Sauvignon Blanc and then using 15% Chardonnay for body and 15% Viognier for a touch of exoticism on nose, you are left with a superbly crafted and stunningly delicious wine. The 2005 has been knocking our members over for six months and the delicious 2006 comes into the cellar around Christmas time. Totally multi-talented when it comes to food matching – this is our choice (of literally thousands of samples) to be your party wine this season.

2004 Estampa Reserve Carmenère, Colchagua, Chile x 6 bottles
The red Estampa uses Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc to do a tango on your taste buds. Instead of the usual monstrous tannins and teeth–staining fruit usually associated with Chilean reds, you end up with is a very well balanced and classy wine indeed. This is, by a long way, the winner of our highly recommended red wine of the year award for larger parties. You will be amazed at the value afforded here.
